ILLUSTRATED BY HGAROLD BEARDS
SUMMARY: A nice story about a girl who loves her best friend's pony. Stephanie has been given Dulcie, a small black pony, as a 'stop-gap' until her grandfather can find her a better pony which she can compete with. But Stephanie's friend Joan, who also rides and helps with Dulcie, loves the little pony. When Stephanie's new mount Nanette arrives on trial, Joan has one last chance to prove Dulcie's worth by riding her in the one day event. Can she persuade her friend to keep Dulcie instead of the new pony?
